SJS... regarding transfer performance for any screen.

Don't know how many folks know that they can increase their page load performance by increasing their browser caching (especially if using Netscape).

Go to the EDIT menu bar, then select
Preferences
Advanced
Cache
Set the memory cache to 32768 KB
(opt.) set the disk cache to the same amount

This works great if you're running 96 to 128k RAM.

I believe Netscape's caching default is 1024kb which breaks the page loads into smaller pieces (ie wastes your time).

Try it, see how it works. If you don't like it, set it back to where it was, but you should notice a performance difference in the page loads.

(O-T) To SJS re: MTU.

Go download TweakDUN Ver. 2.22 from Patterson Design Systems for $15. (There may still be a no-cost, limited-function shareware version available at download sites, but it's worth the price.)

TweakDUN will handle your MTU settings without the need for registry editing (dangerous for non-propeller heads). Very user-friendly. Most ISPs use a MTU of 1,500, so TweakDUN can help non-AOL users as well.
