Net convergence conference

SAN JOSE, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- As the Internet becomes a hybrid
medium involving traditional telephone lines, digital wireless
communications and digital land lines, companies are hustling to stay at the
forefront of the technological synergy.

Nortel Networks and other Internet and tech
players will announce their latest work bridging
telephony, data storage and the Net at the Tech
Museum of Innovation Monday.

Attending the conference will be Redmond,
Wash.-based Microsoft (MSFT),
Hewlett-Packard (HWP) and Intel (INTC).

To take advantage of the meeting,
Hewlett-Packard and Nortel (NT) are expected to
debut two new products.

The conference on online convergence will last
from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In line with its online focus, it will also be Webcast
via Nortel at www.nortelnetworks.com/converging.
