JC, we've run Linux on our PC. A couple of years ago hubby downloaded it for free but then spent quite a bit of money on books. . He ran Linux for six months to a year. He took it off machine because he could only write messages or whatever to himself. Nowadays, he entertains himself by writing code for his Palm Pilot.

His freinds in Asia do not live in major city. They live in what we would call a remote area.

Because of Asian crises they had to go to Linux. At that time, they paid $50.00 for CD cuz they got instructions or whatever with it. I don't know.

At that time, I doubt that there were any Linux installfest for them to attend. Don't know what they are up to these days because of cutbacks hubby hasn't visited with them.

When we buy new PC, I imagine we will consider Linux.
