Joe, RE: The Bald Eagle. We snuck up on him and my pal and myself have hunted together for many years. At forty yards we stopped and began rolling the video. We had come in from his back side so he did know we were there, he was too busy watching over a several miles of open range. He was looking for the unlucky mouse, rabbit, etc. that crossed his "kill zone". I've never been that close to a Bald Eagle but have been that close to wild Golden Eagles twice. Once while antelope hunting in the flat lands of Colorado I saw a Golden Eagle sitting on a fence post. I came in from behind on him with the same results as with the Bald Eagle. I don't know if you have ever seen a Golden but their wing span will shock you. When this Golden took wing all I could do is think how lucky I was to see a Golden that close. Two years ago I saw another Golden but that was not so trilling. I know a rancher friend who lives below my new land. He has 44,000 deeded acres and one December day he and I were riding around the ranch, hanging out together checking cattle and fences. Oh yeah, I had a late season cow elk tag in my pocket so we went to the back of the ranch to look around as it is full of game. For you city folks, nature is nothing like Walt Disney would have you believe. Movies like "The Bear" are fiction, a baby bear to an adult male bear is lunch. Likewise winter kills the old, injured or weak and it is not kind. That is why they have hunting seasons, so most people never see what people who spend a lot of time in wilds know for fact. Anyway every winter there is what is called "winter kill" of deer, elk and many other animals. If there wasn't a hunting season the winter kill would soon be on a grand scale. My rancher friend and I were way "off road" and we came up on a winter kill mule deer being chowed on by a large Golden Eagle. As soon as the Golden saw us he tried to fly away but could not. He had eaten so much her could not fly. I guess he didn't want to end up like the mule deer. What a pig. RE: Holyfield/Lewis, my friend who watched the fight said Holyfied got the crap kicked out of him. The organizations that govern boxing have ordered a rematch within six months because they think this was not good for boxing. Lewis may well have been robbed. RE: GNET I hear it was hard to read, I'll talk with GNET about this. My friend said Holyfield was bent over so much that you couldn't read anything. GNET and Don King were the winners. GNET got a million dollars worth of advertising before the fight. 909 BLUE
