<<dell and it's sub 1k computer
how come more publicity has not been given to dell regarding their entry in the sub 1k market. they have been advertising for 2 or 3 weeks in the investors business daily a $999.00 computer with speakers and monitor.>>

David: DELL had targeted consumers that are comfortable with technology and are willing to pay a little extra for a high quality machine. They have stayed away from the sub-1000K market because it wasn't as profitable for DELL as other fast growing markets. Yet, the sub-1000k mkt. has grown and DELL has become even more efficient. You have seen DELL's price points drop a little but IMHO DELL will enter the low cost PC market in a MAJOR way -- on their own terms when they are ready to do it. DELL likes to do things in a profitable way and keeps the shareholders interests top of mind!!

Scott
