You have missed the point and appear to have "bought" the Brinkley book, hook, line and sinker. He must appreciate that you are the one who purchased it too. To paraphrase Mary McCarthy re: Lillian Hellman, as someone who has read Brinkley, it is not a slight exaggeration to remark that everything he writes is politically tainted, including "and" and "the". Here's something verifiable: cato.org btw, while Joel Brinkley is extremely political, he is also a dead ringer for Donald Pleasance.
