Hi HVN,

Unless you are corroborating what I've already stated, I suggest
that you go back and read some of the my previous messages, particularly
the last two paragraphs in the upstream from this one. I was responding to
others' assertions (assumptions?) that XLSW was a candidate switch. I do
not have any information regarding any particular selection that IDTC may
be considering or many have made in this regard. My replies were in
generic terms only, answering questions made by previous posters.

In a later post [#2676] , I made the following disclaimer and request for
clarification:

"Even without specific knowledge of their stated plans (maybe you could
elaborate on the source of this matter as it relates to this discussion),
I
would still....."

Yes, it was on an assumptive basis, in a "for example" manner, citing both
XLSW and SUMA throughout several posts here as examples of
programmable switches. Apologies to all, if I was less than clear on this.

>>Finally, I sincerely doubt that any carrier at this stage is purely IP -
to the best of my knowledge they are all using a combo - IP/Circuit
switched.<<

Which means what? That I have stated something different?

As far as the puritanical approach to Internet Telephony, versus the
combined (hybrid) approach, I also went to some length to explain that they
were different, and that no one was doing pure at this time in a global way.
I stated that pure was still in the very early stages of conceptualization.

From the post you responded to:

"It does not, however, address Internet Telephony from a purist's
perspective. That is, it does not deal with pure IP constructs, rather it
mimics the PSTN as we now know it. This is the way that most VoIP ITSPs
are headed, since "pure" Internet Telephony is still in its very early stages
of conceptualization (at least with respect to where it would be of any
use on a global scale).

Hope this clears it up a bit.

Regards, Frank_C.
