Deutsche Telekom Barred From Price-Cutting Move, WSJ Reports

Hamburg, March 15 (Bloomberg) -- Deutsche Telekom AG is barred from offering its low-cost
T-Online service unless it breaks out the prices for the phone call and the price of the service,
the Wall Street Journal Europe reported, citing the Hamburg state court. The ruling was in
response to a complaint from rival AOL Europe, a joint venture between America Online Inc.
and Bertelsmann AG, which claims T-Online is engaging in unfair pricing, the WSJ said. At
issue is Deutsche Telekom's plan to launch the service for six pfennig (3 cents) a minute; AOL
Europe claims other Internet service providers don't have the facilities to offer rival services, the
newspaper reported.

Deutsche Telekom plans to spend more than 20 billion deutsche marks on acquisitions to
strengthen its global position, Germany's Capital magazine reported on Feb. 24 in an advance
release of its latest issue. (The Wall Street Journal Europe p5 3/15 www.wsj.com)
