To all on my WDC drive failure..

Yes its the C:\ drive
Yes it clicks, which is a mechanical problem
Yes I'm not prying open the drive
Yes I'm replacing it with another drive
Yes I need to find a data recovery house because some of the info on the drive is critical

Just ordered a nice new machine which is the new workhorse (once repaired the current machine will be dedicated to internet)

Caveat: I had carefully backed up all client files to jaz cartirdges. The old story of the cobbler's children missing shoes.. I didn't back up my own data.

Last: Opening up the morning mail I found ADR SCSI 50 gig digital removable drives.. $ 650 for the drive and $ 129 for 3 cartridges each holding 50 gigs. 2 meg per sec transfer rate, which isn't blistering but for larger systems having image files its reasonable.
