It's almost standard procedure that the host get a percentage of the gross. Usually 10-25%. I can't imagine that Days Inn is getting nothing. But maybe.

Regards,

HG

DADEPFAN,

<<Do hotels and motels get rent or a portion of the profits from the people loading and maintaining the vending machines?>>

I would think so ... why else, other than customer convenience, would you have them?? Where's the benefit in having a vending machine in your lobby, when all the profit is going elsewhere?? Having those machines don't necessarily keep customers.

<<Added convenience for current customers can increase repeat customers.>>

My point exactly, regarding these kiosks, but they won't necessarily bring in those customers who've never stayed with your chain prior to these kiosks. However, having said that, if you had just exited a highway, after driving for 10 hours with kids in the back seat (or with your company's products), and saw all those hotels on that street with the hotel chains, fast foods, convenience stores, etc - you all know those streets - IF you saw one advertizing Internet when the others didn't, wouldn't you be more inclined to stay at the one with the Internet? Especially IF it quieted those @$%#%^^%# kids or made your job of reporting back to the Corporate HQ easier??

I would think so.

Again, JMHOs.

Cheers, Rory.
