This week's Barron's cover was enough for me. When I laid it on the counter at my local newsstand, the clerk makes a remark about the "Almost 10,000" blurb on the top. I responded that I didn't own any shares of Dow Jones Industrial Average Inc. and didn't know anyone who did. He agreed and said he thought OEX was the place to invest, and went on about everything one could do for a mere 1/8. I don't need a shoeshine anymore, and most of the cabdrivers at the airport here don't speak much English, but I managed a bookstore/newsstand twenty years ago, and I remember what my employees (and me) were paid. ho ho ho
