Monty; Or some one <g> This url updates the NDX daily,
nasdaqtrader.com
----------------
The DRM adds up to the amount of shares of each one in the trust,
and the market value is not the total cap of the issue, but only
the value in the trust. The NDX is now not exactly CAP weighted
they introduced a modifier I haven't had time to understand.
This was to limit the among of clout the really big ones have.
before that the top 5 controlled about 60% of the index, after
it cut them down to about 40%. All that aside, I don't really need
to understand the adjustment policy to track the head/tail effect,
as long as I can get the percentages from that url.
-----------------------
That url gives the data in html ( with frames ) to get around
the problem of inporting it ( because of the frames ) into excel
I set up a dummy printer ( generic/text only to print to a file )
so I print it to a text only file naming it the dateNDX.csv
that gets it into Excel and I do a text to data conversion
it's not as good as I like it as a lot of line feeds are left
in it but I can still use it.
---------------------------
Does any know how to get a html ( with frames ) into excel
so that it's no longer a html and you can sort and work on it ?
My system of printing it to a text only file works, but I'm sure
there has to be a better way.
