Sam,
Absolutely. It will come slowly at first. That's why I hypothesized that the top would be formed over several years of sideways movement with a downwards bias. This would be because the lack of fresh marginal flows will remove the propelant but a decade plus of gains had made people complacent. It will take several years to change the complacency. Also people won't recognize the change at one time. At the same time as some people recognize the change and start withdrawing larger amounts others will still be following the buy all dips strategy. And technological advances can effect more than life expectancy. It could also improve productivity and other factors that will keep the economy strong. So there are lots of factors that can effect this scenario.

I'm just thinking out loud here as well. And as I said earlier I think we still have a few years before we need to become overly concerned with this scenario.
