Try looking at his postings and some of the responses. He has been wasting time screeching at two groups of people, the believers who are unnerved and appalled by his arrogance and the people who are not going to be swayed by harangues.

The believers, who try by example to show what a truly Christian life means and look to draw people to a life that is morally aware and aware of the spiritual are appalled by his attacks. My personal feeling: He is a whited sepulchre and he makes me ill.

Why does one get the distinct feeling of you and CL that what really brings joy to your heart isn't praying for us poor lambs to turn our hearts, but relishing the prospect of you guys having it all cushy in heaven while we get our torturous comeuppances?

Do you know that at this very moment, as in all other moments of history, millions of human beings are as fervent and positive and assured and confident in their deluded, or at least highly problematic, supernatural beliefs as you are in yours? They're Buddhists, animists, Muslims, Bahai, and none of them give primacy to your Jesus. Many of them are willing to die attesting to the truth of their respective faiths. They defy governments, are barred from practicing their professions, they set themselves on fire, they proclaim their beliefs knowing they will be imprisoned for decades, will freeze in the winter and suffocate in the summer and starve all year round, knowing that their families will suffer terribly and that it is likely that no one outside their few terrorized friends and family members will even know why they have disappeared.

You think you are right in your beliefs, and they are wrong, and you think this because... because... your heart has turned! You see the light! You are in unique possession of the TRUTH!

You guys are so arrogant and so lost and so limited. May Buddha or Somebody have mercy on you.

DCF, I do think you are being just a teeny bit unfair here. No one can even prove that Jesus actually existed (although I think he probably did). So certainly it would be even more difficult to assert that he did not have sex. What is wrong with having sex, anyway? Aren't men and women designed to fit together in that way? If God created us, then why did he make for such a nice pleasurable tight fit like that, if sex was not a blessed event? So what would be wrong with Jesus having it? Now you may recall that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, either, and that he supported loving, monogamous relationships. So why would it be so bad if Jesus loved Mary Magdalene, and they had sex?

Speaking of the same old garbage, since you wandered over here, I will post the same factual newspaper article to you that I posted to Chris:

Rev. Guilty in Lover's Manslaughter

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - A minister who claimed that his church's secretary
was accidentally shot while they used a
gun during foreplay was convicted Thursday of involuntary manslaughter.

The jury found the Rev. Harvey Crews innocent of second-degree murder, which could
have sent him to prison for 40 years.
The jury recommended he get the maximum - 10 years - for the manslaughter charge.

Crews, a 38-year-old married man, testified that he and Kathleen Eich, 43, his mistress
of 21/2 years, had been drinking
heavily and were preparing to have sex in his office at the Word of Faith Tabernacle last
July.

Crews said the two were talking about trust, the subject of a conference he had just
attended, when he pulled a pistol out of his
desk drawer. Ms. Eich, standing behind him, took the hand that was holding the gun and
put it between her legs, Crews
testified.

Crews said that when he turned to pull back the gun, it went off.

Prosecutors suggested that Crews and Ms. Eich had been arguing.

Crews' estranged wife, Debbie, testified that she and Ms. Eich had been best friends
and that she hadn't known about the
affair.

Now, can you tell me what is so absolutely great about Christianity if some of its ministers carry on like this guy did? Do you think he was just really using a loaded gun to do a bit of foreplay on his lover to prove trust in the (illicit) relationship, or did he kill her deliberately and make that up as an alibi? I am certainly not arguing that all Christians are like this minister, but I am definitely asserting that whether you are a kind and loving person who does mostly good deeds in life has almost nothing to do with whether you are Christian or some other religion, or an atheist or pagan or whatever. I mean, this guy was definitely lost, and he was preaching the Lord's word! I sure hope he didn't pray for me!
