Yes, a Japanese version could certainly help to nudge down the savings rate and I agree that April could be blue - maybe including the last week in March - but I think the fall this time will not be so sharp as some commentators in the press have been confidently assuming.

However my comments to Borb today regarding the mystique of Oriental p/es are not in jest.

Honda is a good company to follow. They have controlled their expansion appropriately with the growth of both foreign and domestic markets. I think that when Honda starts talking about aggressive growth in several markets, then Japan will have recovered. However, althought my news is somewhat outdated, I'm not aware as yet that Honda is looking to grow aggressively at this time.

I'm thinking that the Dow may have topped at 10,000, and the question is how will this impact the Asian Indexes.
