Reading the article you posted, it occured to me that ATI is a much better buy than TDFX; They are trading at about the same price and have the same expected 1999 PE (adjust for ATI's FY date). But ATI's execution and revenue growth has been nothing short of admirable. And not only are they the industry leader (in terms of reach and financial strength), they have also diversified into set-top boxes and other areas. Nor is TDFX's expected YoY earnings growth any more than ATI's. So fundamentally, it seems to me that the risk/reward ratio favors ATYT, at least until Q3 when Rampage will be announced and we can assess FY2000.

I'm open to all alternative views.
