EFAX -- Best I can understand is its imputed value for "eyeballs" here. The model is Hotmail, which was also a Tim Draper investment, although it never went public. Sold to Microsoft, price tag wasn't made public, but estimated $300 - 500M at the point where it had, I believe appx. 6M "subscribers". Of course many of these accounts are inactive; that was no secret to anybody.

The EFAX market is guesstimated to be heavily represented by the small office/home office market, which does buy stuff. They got to 100,000 signups fast; once people realize they have to give out a long distance number to receive local faxes, they may not be so enthusiastic.

According to a previous post, EFAX does give out PIN#'s, so the telco number squeeze may not be as bad as I wondered about. I don't know how a standard fax or blastfax will get through that way.
