Hi RJ2, some info Murdo released today. At least it shows they are still looking. Flag Resources (1985) Limited and Golden Briar Mines Limited, joint venture partners, proceeding with downhole geophysical probe of deep Matagamasi Lake drill hole, Rathbun Township, Sudbury, Ontario CALGARY, March 16 /CNW/ - ''In the Matagamasi drill hole the wide extent of disseminated nickel and copper mineralization from 416 to 1530 feet and intermittently, to completion depth of 2500 feet, transported into the drill hole's sedimentary rock formation, suggests the size of the originating source of the mineralization may be quite substantial. There are massive sulfides in Rathbun Township. Two miles west of Matagamasi Lake, the Rathbun Lake Occurrence is a rich surface occurrence of massive copper, nickel, platinum, palladium, gold and silver bearing sulfides. The platinum and palladium are some of the highest abundance known to be associated with mafic rock. (Assays: Ontario Geological Survey Report 213, 1982). There are faults from the northwest and northeast arms of Matagamasi Lake that appear to be coinciding near the vicinity of the drill hole. The McClaren Creek Fault appears to be extending north close to the west shore of the lake. A survey is currently being completed to measure any deviation in the direction of the drill hole, with the downhole geophysical survey to follow to look for the sought after source of the disseminated mineralization, within a 600 foot radius, approximately, of the drill hole.''
