Jim, it's just coincidence that the 14.7% sequential increase that I forecast for DELL this quarter equals the 14.7% sequential decrease that IDC forecasts for the market. It's IDC's turn to experience this January effect. DELL already did last quarter.

Jim, IDC notified me that it would be ok to have up to 3 different users on the IRS report. Both you and I would be given separate access codes and we could access any existing report on IDC's web site. In addition we would have a combined 25 hours of analyst time. This analyst, allocated to our account, would be available to search for data we specifically requested. IDC has started the process by asking me to prepare a wish list of data we would need initially that isn't on the web site. Here's what I've prepared to date. Please add to it. 1]US, European and worldwide PC sales data by month for the last 24 months. I need this further broken down by desktop, portables and servers. And, I need this also for DELL. 2]In the PC industry I need periodic reports on PC sales by vendor and timely info on major issues impacting sales and ASP's by vendor. 3]In the semiconductor industry I need periodic reports on chip sales by vendor and major issues such as acceptance and penetration of Intel's P3. 4] In the Storage market I need monthly or quarterly data on sales by vendor and timely info on major issues impacting sales.
