Here is the letter.

For the Attention of Mr.
Serge Muller
Rex Mining Companv
Limited.

MINES DIVISION
MINISTRY OF MINERAL
RESOURCES
YOUYI BUILDING
BROOKFIELDS
FREETOWN.

16th March 1999.

CORRECTION - SIERRA LEONE WEBSITE
NEWS OF
15TH MARCH 1999

Website news of the 15th March 1999 has drawn the
attention of the Minister of Mineral Resources to the
portion relating to Kimberlite Mining in the Tongo
Fields.

The Minister would like to set the records straight by
the following clarifications:

( 1) Rex Mjning Company was granted the
concession in 1994 to mine diamonds in Tongo
Fields and their Mining Lease is still current. It
is therefore not true that Branch Energy has
been granted licence to mine the same area.

(2)The Minister did not make any comment
about Experts from Branch Energy conducting
laboratory tests on samples of kimberlite
deposits. The company's operations have gone
far beyond laboratory tests on kimberlite
samples.

(3) Branch Energy are expected to start
production of diamonds in their Koidu
Kimberlite mining concession when security is
fully restored in the country .

(A R WURIE )
Ag. Director of Mines.
