I think the infrastructure of IRC is more adequate for a debate than what we see here on SI. Yes many will not be able to make it on Saturday night(including myself because I work) but it is extremely easy to set up a recording log.This way anything that is said is recorded and than posted on SI, so that the rest of us can see (if everyone is still up for the debate)... The problem with SI is that while you are typing your message, it is very possible that there are a few more people that are typing at the same time and of they hot the submit button before you do, you will probably end up missing the message!! On IRC, if you type and someone posts before you do, there is no way you will miss is because it will scroll in front of you... Just my two cents worth! Have a great debate Chris K.
