Options Jerry,
A bear market in my opinion is a slide of at least 20% or more over a fairly prolonged period of time. A market slide of 18% let's say, that is over in two or three months and then bounces right back is more a severe correction than a real bear market.
I think we are way overdue for one for many reasons, including absurd valuations, minus zero <G> dividends, everyone and their great grandma-ma becoming obsessed with the market, the coming Y2K problem, the infamous "one zero" historical resistance, the horribly rancid and putrid bad breadth, etc, etc, etc! Yul Yogi (from the Bear and I) <g>
