I have met Bill, and am familiar with his work otherwise, and I respect him, but he has a history of being a little more "conservative than thou" towards working politicians than I think is appropriate. He started hitting Newt too damn early for my taste, for example.

Still, many American intelligence and law-enforcement officials say that security at the labs has been lax for years. Robert M. Gates, Director of Central Intelligence from 1991 to 1993, said in an interview: "We were appalled at the number of Soviets they allowed to tour the labs. The Energy Department last week fired a Taiwan-born scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory for security breaches, after the FBI questioned him in connection with the suspected theft of nuclear weapons designs. Investigators say they believe the scientist, Wen Ho Lee, gave the Chinese sensitive information on nuclear detonations during a visit there for a 1988 seminar. Lee has not been charged with any crime, but is the prime suspect in the case. Who was running the bomb labs and the rest of the National Security apparatus in 1988? And the next 4 years after that? Of course, I'm sure if you've dedicated your life to scouring the earth for various Clinton hatred regurgomatic sites, it doesn't make any difference. You still get the honesty prize on the Clinton hatred front, though, JBL. Comrade-in-arms JLA has officially become a "despiser" now.
