Skip - CDMA makes the HDR transmission possible, does it not?

What the CDMAOne crowd refers to as HDR does of course use CDMA, but there is no reason that generic High Data Rates cannot be done using TDMA. In a cell environment it would probably be less spectrum efficient than CDMA, but it is possible and in fact GSM has several 2.5g systems like HDR.

PS How is this related to my comment on Cinecomm?

Skip, I naturally thought CDMA would be used to transmit the movie data stream from satellite to theatres but I have been told by those with more wireless knowledge than I that this would not be necessary. Apparently the encryption and compression algorithms that are the product of Qualcomms brain-trust are the link between Qualcomm and movie transmission.
