Where do you think the bottom will be on Ciena?

Do you see a parallel between CIEN and NN - missed contracts, leading edge technology and low prices ?

There are parallels, but the reasons behind them are far different. Ciena had a couple giants with competitive technology putting the screws on prices. NN lacked a marketing team and simply wasn't fighting to keep what they had. That's changed and I believe the story is getting stronger every day. I don't really know how to analyze Ciena and while the acquisitions seem strong on promise, they're both start-ups without products shipping. Not only is Lucent a strong competitor, but Nortel's take-out of Cambrian makes them a force to fear.

Having said that, even with the competition breathing down their neck, I'm holding based on their take-out value.
