You make a wild guess. Accumulation or distribution can only be determined after a change in trend occurs. There are no footprints left during a basing action. You might guess from a price volume trend indicator.

Gladman,

I measure that a stock has come under accumulation by money flow and money flow percent. I also watch the AXE on a stk that I like for day to day activity and the frecuency of their move to the best (inside) BID over the course of several days in which a stk is in transition. FWIW.

IF they are selling into strength and positive TA I worry. If they are buying into weakness and "early" positive TA then I get aggressive.
