Hope I'm wrong. But then, I didn't see much consternation from them after Mrs. Clinton made her internet remarks. Maybe they just went over their heads.

>>I don't think you are right about that. I think that one of the few things
that liberals and journalists (overlapping categories, to be sure) hold
sacred is the first amendment. Let Clinton try to censor these sites, and
I think they'll be up in arms<<

NOT! Neocon, you better learn to distinguish between the old mass media outlets and the Internet and other "alternative" press. They feel the competition breathing down their backs and I would fully expect that they wouldn't mind in the least if some sort of "control" were put on them. It is very comparable to what's happening with Internet brokerages and the old retail brokerage establishment. No doubt in my mind that they are the ones behind the recent SEC investigation of Internet brokerages. They've found themselves totally behind the curve, are bleeding marketshare, and I think would do just about anything to slow down the hemorrhaging.

Well Neocon. Very many people held the Second Amendment is extraordinarily high regard, and while we yet have Second Amendment "rights", the increasing "controls" put upon them virtually negates their efficacy. The powers in government do not have to eliminate the First Amendment. They merely need "control" it to effect the result they desire.
