Tad
Are you the only "strong" sell that appears in ZACK's ?
You do not have to answer, if you do not want to.

Oh Tad....relax...you doth protest too much.

Unfortunately I do not have the actual numbers in front of me to counter your claims but what I recall is the bit production comparisons for 16mb and 64mb DRAM and SDRAM which were appropiate for the time frame not the revenue numbers. Besides I am not sure Samsung or any other SEA company would break down individual products into revenue equivalents ...so I am perplexed by your ability to do it.

Anyway I believe MU's bit production during the TXN acquistion was 500,000mb/month and TXN was 300,000 which was comparable with Samsung.

Nothing personal but although you claim no bias your statements wreak with too much.:-)

Good Luck

Tad,
Thank you for your thorough, fact-filled, and lucid explanations of Micron's fundamentals. I am sure my gratitude is shared by others on this thread. I hope it will compensate for the prickly, inhospitable, or suspicious responses that you may receive from time to time.

ted, nice analysis. don't be bothered by some folks who don't feel the need to produce data, not to mention sources, that would contest your well thought out reasoning.

Tad:

I'm one of those who is labelled a "forever-bear", this despite the fact (which I posted) that for 14 of my 16 years in the game, I was an aggressive tech bull, and in fact assisted in raising many millions of dollars for junior tech companies over that period. I'm a bear on the PC/semi area because I spend a rather consequential amount of my time ascertaining how well PCs are actually selling, as opposed to dreaming about what those sales might or ought to be or accepting the optimistic projections of company flacks. At the moment, I'm an extremely comfortable contented bear,....nothing like successful "foraging" activity after hibernation. (g)

I would suggest that you continue to do what you have been doing, which is to post facts and dispute the baloney. Personally delighted to see your posts, particularly knowing the degree to which there are considerable risks for you in so doing.

Best, Earlie
