Can you tell me if the article was a
part of their "dnafiles" series?

dnafiles.org

I think the biggest players are affx, incy,
genxy, hgsi, pkn--as far as raw sequencing.

I put together a watch list...but it may not be
very complete, and a few symbols probably don't
belong on the list. I guess a need to edit it
down to just the sequencing companies, versus
bioinformatics etc etc.

AFFX AGTO AXPH *CRGN ENZ GENE GENXY GLGC
*GMED HGSI *HYSQ INCY MLNM MYGN NGEN OSIP
PPDI VYSI

fyi...I own the starred fellas, including HYSQ
which I bought a little of today. Hmmm, gmed
isn't a sequencing company--well there you are,
not a very good list, but a place to start.
I often find that if I post a sloppy attempt
to answer somebody's question, somebody usually
feels compelled to come along and do a better
job. I'll be watching the thread with you;-)

<If they were in fact not mentioned or only mentioned in passing, would it be fair to question the quality of their PR efforts?

No, IMO I don't know why people get all worked up about PR efforts... in the long run I don't think it matters much. You see lots of companies that are tons of PR and short on everything else. It may help for a while, but I'd rather they spend their money on more product!
