** OT - Turkeys **

I just have to share this story.

About 9 years ago, I was enlisted in the Air Force and stationed at the AF Academy in Colorado Springs. We had a gaggle of about 30 turkeys in the area. One Friday morning, they decided to take over our parking lot. They often strolled through it, but this time they claimed it as their turf.

A female co worker had left to go on a doughnut run and returned to a parking lot full of turkeys. She parked away from them and got out of her car. As she began walking toward the building, about 6 turkeys charged her. Watching a woman in a regulation AF uniform (complete with skirt) sprint through a parking lot with about 6 turkeys chasing her was quite a sight (really, try to visualize that...)

She realized she wasn't fast enough, so she improvised. Imagine the horror we felt as she began reaching into the box of doughnuts and throwing them on the ground as she ran to the door. It worked, she made it with five doughnuts to spare.

That memory still makes me LOL. :-)

Too bad it wasn't a rainy day...then she may have been armed with her umbrella...

** Back to our regularly scheduled program **

Sorry, but we never take a Hokie seriously.

Wahoo-wa!

PS - While I went to UVa, my brother went to Tech so I've told a few tech jokes in my time.
