Thread:

Ah, nostalgia.

My first purchase of SNDK occurred on 1/17/97. I have never sold.

Until today.

For pragmatic reasons, I dumped half of my holdings at $37. I show a nice profit, and the other half I will hold forever and ever (almost), shares I own but, in essence, got for free.

The funny thing is, I feel like I did something stupid. I believe in SanDisk now more than ever, and of course I hope my remaining shares vault into the stratosphere. I guess I'm just not as much of a gambler as maybe I should be: it is hard NOT to do the limit sell I made today after such a long while and after such a colorful and gut-wrenching history.

But as a long-time long on this board, I feel like I'm a traitor. I know, I know, investing is not a team sport, we all do what we think is best under our own unique series of circumstances. But, despite a profit and expectations for more, I shall miss the shares I sold today.

Hey, out there, whomever you are who bought them, I hope they do for you as much as they did for me. I stuck by them from $10 to $40, to $5 and to $37. This SNDK, she can be a wild temptress, moving on a whim, breaking your heart, or lining your pockets, you never can tell. I guess I just got too old to ride the wild mustang, and shall settle for a bet on her performance from the safety of the sidelines.

Carry us on, fresh horses with feedbags full.

- Don
