What we need to create is a market where cash can be converted into gold equally easily. I believe that with greater liberalisation of gold imports, we are gradually getting there but perhaps not as quickly as we need to. We, undoubtedly, need to create forward markets and futures trading in gold to give confidence to the average investor that he can readily convert cash into gold.
