freeus,freeus,freeus....re:"running in the halls"

i hope you were not with scissors in hand....

you can focus and have a great deal of action...and profits...become intimate with your portfolio, get to learn the patterns and resiliency of the underlying...go long the common of great buy and hold issues...get your adrenalin rush with the options selling in those issues...learn to flip puts/calls...dell the perfect example...easier to look down a narrow corridor and see one teacher at a time running at you...also easier to avoid him/her if it looks like a collision...

i think one should own no more than 3-4 issues, try to accumulate large blocks over the years...goes against asset allocation theories which to me are passe...when was the last time a asset allocated, professionally managed portfolio outperformed the major indices?...the mutual funds are prime example of asset allocation strategy failure..why hedge if you believe in an issue...the hedge and action is with the derivitive..

all your eggs in one basket not so bad with the current market dynamic...sector rotation quite short...why try to keep up with it..it always comes back to large caps/techs...

enthusiasm like a ray of sun light...warming indeed...but direct that ray thru a magnifying glass....voila....an incendiary act, just by focusing......slow down...you'll arrive sooner...cheers, ed a.
