It appears they will indeed charge for the service, and it will be at "reasonable rates". Judging by the info on their website at www.comfax.com, it will sometimes be a headache to use. But then again, so is AOL...

Maybe AOL or Yahoo will buy the efax type companies and roll them into their standard service.

I suspect that YHOO or AOL could duplicate the services relatively easily, since an Internet fax server is a relatively straightforward extension of a LAN fax server. Then again, the market so far seems to think that efax has a sustainable advantage somewhere.
