An SI "Unwired Planet" thread was started some time ago but has attracted few posts. The private investors including Qualcomm are certainly interesting.

Unwired Planet has made a micro browser which uses HTML, very close to HDML that your regular WEB page uses, except it has hoks in it for very small browsers, such as a 4 line display on a cell phone. they first went after the ATT CDPD based phone and then hooked up with Qualcomm to put this on all their cellphones.

they have since formed the WAP which is trying to use the Unwired Planet HTML to provide browser and limited WEB access on any platform.

they are also into alot of other wireless platforms.
