Walter, Competition is always brisk when we are talking about the kind of market in FC and SANs that we have been for quite a while now. Being long Ancor since 1996 has also given my the dyspeptic perspective of riding the FC wave of speculation. We have always discussed the competition and recently I posted a link to a device that is supposed to attach to the LAN by a GE interface and stream video and AV. There is a host of other technology posted on this link in the past 3 years. The FC field is starting to look like they are getting ready to present a more united front and reduce the anti-FC hype about interop problems. As we have seen, paper and electronic magazines have bashed FC pretty soundly at times (remember the Wired article?). Hopefully, the various players realize they have a common interest in the survival of FC as a storage technology that supercedes their individual interests. That is certainly the case with many of us FC investors who have direct and indirect positions in most FC companies. It doesn't hurt to have EMC pushing the envelope either. George
