If you think that after all this the net result is that "character matters" then you are really offbase imo. The case you have made here is that character doesn't matter, because the process is so partisan that you don't know what to believe when the other side starts dishing dirt. That is the net net of all of this. Of course some loonies like Quayle will continue to preach that message. Everybody else is sick of it. I am still amazed that the republicans thought they would get public support for impeaching a popular president on the "values" issue.
