ICO should just cancel their system while they have the chance. The same as I wrote that Iridium should do while it was all still on the ground. This town ain't big enough for both of us. Iridium is looking very sad. I'm very sorry to see this shambles. Especially to see people like Jack Morgan who have made diligent, honest and sensible efforts to invest in a successful product and service end up suffering loss. It does bamboozle me as to why people invested in it. I rant away here, figuring out what should work and it seems that LarryL and others just see it as an argument rather than a search for truth. I'm not trying to convince people that they should invest in Globalstar and not Iridium. I'm indifferent to that. My intention is to hold the stock and bank today's share price in annual dividends in 4 years. The purpose of these discussions is to gain information - such as Djane and others provide and to get points of view which one might miss. Critical points of view are the best ones to get. If we can't handle those critical points and be comfortable that they are wrong, small or irrelevant, then we ought to check why we think something and ditch the idea if it's faulty. I still can't see anything wrong with Globalstar. Just a year's delay, which as JGoren says, is not all bad. Sure, it would be nice to now be using generation one handsets on a fully operating system, but that isn't the end of the system. It just means the net present value, to coin a phrase, was dropped down a chunk. ICO really should ditch their system now. Forget their sunk costs. The market is too small for everyone to just charge what they like for indifferent quality and make a fortune. I guess some people believe me now! Unless ICO can offer customers some benefit which Globalstar can't, they should face the facts now. Being a government department, I doubt that they will. They'll pour taxpayer money down the gurgler. Does anyone know what ICO does that is good which Globalstar can't? My preference would have been that Iridium did make money too - capital destruction is always bad. Sorry to see this happening Jack, but happy that I guessed right. I hasten to add that I have NOT valued Iridium and do not know whether it is worth the current share price. Maybe it is more. I suspect less. Maurice
