MMV,

If I understand what you are saying, you are just saying that the currency is just being rotated around in the market: You sell, buy something else, that seller takes his money and buys something else, etc.

But, with companies no longer providing ANY sort of retirement, most all people use 401Ks. Thus, there is always this NEW money coming in every month. And if you look at your choices in a 401K plan on where you can put your money, it is usually 10 stock funds to 1 money fund. People just fill out the form, choose a fund that's done well in the past (ie index and blue chip) and forget about it. Once a month they check the business section to see where the DOW is. They have no idea of PE's and valuation, nor do they care. Millions of people doing this, every month.....

MMV: Rubin and Dame Abby and Microsoft and all of the big internet plays are all connected at the hip by Goldman Sachs. And Goldman and the other big boyz have been stripping Treasuries and leveraging the zeros and using the coupons to buy index leaps and futures since 1982. So I kinda think you won't see the end until Goldman goes public.
