Scott,
Hi!!!

RE: "The orders were higher than they have been in some time" -- that says to me that DELL is being honest but VERY diplomatic and could be on their way to delivering record results in this next quarter.

Ok...let's try this one more time..Just an opinion....

I can't remember when this was written...actually toooo lazy to look it up...The Meta Group did an independent survey on PC business and contracts....without being able to offer all components (data servers) DELL was locked out of 50% of all the possible contracts...Quote I remember the best...ending the article: "In the past DELL has left enormous sums of money on the table..." Remembering this article I asked Robert Williams during the briefing after our tour of Metric this summer...."when will DELL be ready to ship the Data Storage"...his smile was enough...he answered: "This Fall".. I believe we are seeing the results of the other companies that are now opening their contracts to DELL...I thought that some of this would be in the last quarter...but, I believe many were pushed off to this quarter for various reasons...some are perhaps large contracts and payment was not till this quarter or even later...I think Michael or Tom mentioned something to this effect at the conference call..Interesting side note here...I don't recall hearing any of our current skeptics mentioning this... :o). .Once again I'm too lazy to look that up toooo...There was a more recent post by John Rosser who claimed that DELL purposedly held off on some orders until P3 hit..IMO this also makes great sense...Finally, for rumor sake :o)....I too have heard the parking lot is full and the sales reps have big smiles...of course when didnt' they... :o)

Best, kemble
