Hello Kemble...Roger McNamee on PC sales and tech in general----->

"The fundamental backdrop for techs is as good as you can ask
for," said Roger McNamee, principal of Integral Capital Partners.

"All the evidence so far suggests business as usual" for PC
hardware growth, Mr. McNamee said. He noted that he doesn't
expect "an enormous number of negative surprises" for the first
quarter.

Mr. McNamee said he expects overall
PC unit growth in the midteens as a
percentage and single-digit gains in
revenue.

Market research firms are calling for
similar results. International Data Corp.
expects 14.3% unit growth world-wide
this year and 4.8% revenue growth.

This quarter, IDC expects a "healthy"
14.1% unit growth from a year ago.

Kemble,
I received this email from someone who never posts. I think you and everyone else would appreciate what he had to say including MD.

Hi Dorine,
Thanks for the reply. I've been reading the message board today as I do almost everyday, read your post and your new card, they're great.

Am I in Dell? YOU BET!!!
I handle accounts for my Mother, my Sister, My kids, My Wife and myself and I've got some dell in all of those accounts. Have used margin for years. Bought my first 200 shares back in June of '95 bought 200 more 3 months later then got scared
out and sold with a small gain. Didn't buy back in until Jan'96 trying to catch up to what those original splits shares would have netted. It wasn't until I stumbled on to this message board (late '96) that I learned so much about this company and the people that run it. It was this board that helped me hang in there duri
ng some of the tough times when I really wanted to bail.

I believe in Michael Dell and I'm not sure if he really knows what a difference
he's made in so many people's lives. After my father died in '92 my mother had lots of expenses and little money. In '97, I put what little there was into dell stock and last month she was able to take the proceeds and pay off her house which was in excess of $100k. She is so thankful and MD made the difference.

I'm listening to Elaine Garzarelli and she's not sounding real positive, especially if the Fed decides to tighten. Let's hope AG stays the course or lowers.

Please say hi to Chuzz, Venkie, Freeus, JBN (Bachman) and the rest of the thread
. They give a lot of us lurkers some real fortitude when the hungry bears come out.

By the way, to answer you're other message, yes I do live in Alaska. I'm probabl
y closer to Russia then most of the US.
Thanks again and keep in touch,
I'll be watching
