Bob, I just wonder whether/when we will see a demo fleet of Necar's to test all of the things they are testing on the buses. Since the Necar 4 is to be fuelled by hydrogen, why wouldn't they do a Chicago type of test with a central refuelling station producing hydrogen with the cars being used as taxis or courier vehicles or government vehicles? This would allow them to test the rest of the car while improving the methanol reformer.

Just a thought.

Regards

FWIW, for those wondering why Necar 4 is rumored to use hydrogen as a fuel and not methanol, which Daimler is favoring. From what I have heard the simple answer is that the design for Necar 4 was locked in before the methanol reformer had advanced enough to be considered in this version. It is also apparently being done to show the flexibility of potential fuels in this type of car. Necar 5 is expected to be back to methanol though.
