Thanks for pointing that out.... I send an email to the SF Now office and see what they say. As you are no doubt aware, California pummeled the last "rising star" in the republican party that tried to run here (Dan Lungren) mostly because he openly opposed abortions. Creeps like him snuck into the system (he was attourney general) so you never know what kind of wacko laws are on the books.

BTW, this could be a technicality because California's constitution can only be amended, not changed. So for example if there is an arcane law on the books from the past, there will be a subsequent law that nullifies the old law, vs. what most states do which is remove the law entirely. Its a stupid system, I don't know why it is that way. But it is just like the right to take a technicality like this and say something like "this law is on the books" in California, when in fact it was nullified by a subsequent law. In the end, these lame word plays are irrelevant, it is the votes that matter.
