SCUMbria - Re: "Intel is offer a great deal on Xeon SRAM, only $1000 a MB. You better hope that K7 isn't selling for $150."

Intel's L2 SRAM for the 550 MHz XEON cycles at 550 MHz.

It may well be worth the $1000 per MegaByte.

What will AMD charge for the 600 MHz L2 SRAM for their 600 MHz K7 ?

Or will AMD DEGRADE performance by hamstringing the K7 with a 150/200 MHz L2 SRAM ?

In that case, $150 may be too much for the K7.

Paul

Scumbria Re <<You better hope that K7 isn't selling for $150.>>

Well I don't know about Paul, but I sure hope that K7 will not be selling for only $150. $600 will be much more like it, I hope.
