The top of the morning to all my cyber pals. This is a great day as this great nation of ours was built by people from many different lands. This is the day we honor the Irish and should remember a good lesson in life at the same time.
I am part Irish, mostly my temper part and the part of me that won't ever quit. My Great Grandmother was 100% Irish, a great woman who taught me "The Lord's Prayer" when I was a wee little thing. There have been more than a few times in my life I have said that prayer or parts of it, "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I shall fear no evil. For thou art with me".
Now the lesson from the Irish. Years ago potatos were a large part of the Irish food supply, then came the potato disaster and there was no food supply. Many of the Irish rather than starve came to America to start a new life. They worked hard and like other people from other lands the Irish lived the American dream. Hard work by good people is what built America, made it great. People who worked with their hands and worked the land. Papa O'Hara ("It is the land that last") and most Irish have a love for land, I know I do. Perhaps because the Irish left their land behind this is so.
Now the lesson of the Irish although we have already talked about it. The lesson is no matter what happens to you in life, you can handle it, even prosper from it. A recovering drunk once told me this lesson in another way, "God never gives you more than you can handle".
We are all Irish today, so let's enjoy how far we have come and how far we can go. If you tilt a few back today, don't drive! Wishing all my pals a GREEN day. 909ers GREEN SNOWSHOE
