Hi
I was not trying to digress at all Ron..I was just trying to point out that we are currently in bubble..a paper bubble..I wasn't trying to digress about e commerce..I already blungeoned(sp) that to death a long time ago and its deflationary effects..
Hard assets have been in the dog house for years..when things go to an extreme they turn into their opposite..
I thought it was a bit silly of you mentioning the bubble stocks as some of of assertion about something connected with gold..
A lot of the people on these gold threads are concerned about the economy and the structural changes going on throughout the world ..
gold might be that leading indicator to suggest a new ball game might be starting soon..
After the bailout of LTCM...I think many many more investors became outraged big time..it just displayed the non level playing field..
which most were aware of anyways...
This demolition derby market probably still has a bit to go with all the money on the sidelines..but eventually things change..
Now with this latest threat to sell IMF gold..things have gotten so very silly..
I just hope India doesn't cave in to this charade..I still don't know
why their government just doesn't start investing in cheap gold mines now and sell gold to their citizens directly..cut out all middle men and don't try to play the games of the wall streeters who make money coming and going..and don't care about humans..
ps..I read your comments about key punch cards a while back about year2000.. nobody ever tried to save key punch strokes by skipping two digits of date field..usually we had keypunch operators whom we
would give the instructions to and who would punch up cards..
when we had to punch up cards ourselves..our laziness would usually
come in not typing sequence card numbers and just praying that our
decks would not be dropped..
nobody ever would have been stupid enough to eliminate instructions because they didn't want to type...I think you are also confused concerning instructions..and input data..the instructions would read and work on the input data..programs are made up of instructions to
handle the universe of exceptions, errors, besides what to do with the current input..you can't imagine how much time a good analyst spends in thinking of all the things that can go wrong..and also the easiest
way to write a system that can be easily modified
