Morgy_Dog,

Thank you for the reference to Forbes' views on the SS issue. It is encouraging to see someone oppose the adjustment of the CPI to reduce increases in SS and Government pensions; though it should be modified from time to time to assure that it reflects the true cost of living. However, with inflation relatively low, such actions would be relatively less significant and there should be less pressure for such action.

I was also pleased to see that he is calling for stopping the practice of combining SS revenues with general tax revenues to make the budget look better. This appears to becoming popular and would be an important step in the right direction.

I could spend the my entire day commenting on his other proposals but I think I have done enough to corrupt Richards Gold Funds thread with discussions of SS and the slight of hand approach to budget's in WDC.

Cheers,
Larry
