EFAX - I missed all the discussion last night. What's the verdict? Is EFAX a short today. Looks to be printing pre-market generally around $25, although the ASK is now $24 1/2.

Mary,

It sounds like you're becoming an Omega fan. But you're still short the stock? Are tradestation and radar screen good enough to be worth the premium price compared to competitive products?

I was short on the theory that they'd get a one-time blip in revenue from upgraders, but not so many new sales, too many competitive products. But I didn't like the way the stock was behaving so I covered.

I'd like to hear your impressions of TS when you get the eval running.

Covered EFAX already. That made my day. Too bad it was only a 20% position. :-)

Re: OMGA - This was posted at 12:21 today by that pkelly50 guy on the Yahoo thread. I am wondering if this guy is breaking the law?

I see we have a new crop of idiots to deal with. Oh well. An instituional friend of mine with First Call, which I do not have access to during the day, faxed me a First Call note put out by one of the brokerages this morning regarding OMGA. It was very positive and discussed in some detail the firm's progress so far, citing a number of very positive developments. In particular, the note reads, and I quote " from public comments in presentations and discussions with management, we believe Omega has completed agreements with E-trade and Wall Street Access to deliver on-line trading capability. These non-exclusive deals will likely be structured with a minimum royalty guarantee and some form of revenue sharing. These deals, which we think will be the first with SEVERAL on-line brokers, should help build the recurring revenue line and increase earnings visibility. Some confirmation of these deals from Omega is likely over coming weeks, though we caution these potential broker deals will take time to complete and are likely to evolve in terms of structure."
"That's big, folks. Really big. Be short when these deals get announced and it will be a very, very ugly day. Read the cover of the New York Times Business section yesterday where there was a long headline story about E-trade (Cotsakos pictured on cover). Read that individuals take on the industry, acquisitions he thinks makes sense, who has value in the industry and who does not. As sure as pkelly looks down upon us from above, I swear to God you weak-kneed longs would not sell another share and you pathetic short pukes would die on the spot from a stroke.
Remain short this name and perish. The bus rolls on, although it BY NO MEANS has reached ramming speed. You'll know when that occurs. More deaths than the Amtrak crash in Chicago."
