OK, we have a little damage control here, no biggie.

First, you have Confessed. So, that part is over. Now, the damage control. The cover story is easy. You simply don't really want your boy to leave home. It was a terrible mistake, etc. etc.

The Men will understand this lie, because it makes sense to them, they have rather simple nervous systems when it comes to this stuff.

Next step: let them fix it. This is the "No, I don't type" handling. (I type, but noboby knows, because any time someone asks me, it's because they don't and want me to type for them.)

Next, Do Something Nice to make up for it. Like roast beef and Chardonnay. And invite your Personal Problem Handler over.

BAWK!

Part II of Mom Screws Up
Well, let me be the first to admit that I am the luckiest woman alive. Dan managed somehow to get CW on another flight; he says the airline (I'll even plug them-- UAL) was wonderful and bent over backwards to get CW there. He even ended up in first class, which I'm sure he is enjoying and thinks he deserves anyway. Then Dan called the travel agency who said they would meet CW with a car and take care of contacting the school and that there were no problems and they'll try to get reimbursement from the school for us. When I told Dan I was prostrate with remorse, he said, "Why? No big deal. Just a little miscommunication."
No big deal!
Wow. I wish that I worked for him instead of me.
