Advance-Decline for foot soldiers (broad market):
Percentage of stocks that are up in the respective time period

Mar 15 Jan 6
1-week (5-days) 45.3% 74.3%
1-month (21 days) 44.5% 68.1%
1-quarter (63 days) 42.3% 81.3%
1-year (52-weeks) 30.4% 49.1%

The Advance-Decline percentages and percentages above the moving
averages (10-, 21-, 50-, and 200-days) are in the 70 and 80
percentiles for the Dow and S&P 100 stocks.

The percentage of stocks above moving averages for the broad market
are at:

10-day 51.4%
21-day 49.3%
50-day 36.5%
200-day 39.4%

Usually, the shorter-term 21-day MA percentage peaks in the 60-70
percentile so there may be further upside. The percentages for the
50-day and the 200-day moving averages crossed over to the downside in
February 8 confirming a correction. It still hasn't signalled a
recovery in the market.
